Bulk Upload via Admin Dash

Bulk upload gives you the ability to add as many listings as you want, all at the same time. Using the bulk upload tool, you can easily manage large sets of listing data within a single excel sheet, and upload/edit your inventory instantly.

The Bulk Upload can be found by navigating to Admin Dash > Manage > Transactable Types > Data Upload

From here you can choose to upload a CSV to your marketplace ( New Data Upload), download the listings on your marketplace (Download Current Data) or download a blank Template (Download CSV Template)

If this is your first time using bulk upload, we recommend downloading the CSV template from which you will be managing your data. To do this, simply select 'Download CSV Template'. Your download should start automatically.

Now that you have the template, you'll see that it is formatted so that all of the information you may need to specify for your listings is broken up into separate columns in the sheet.

Keep in mind that the order of fields in the CSV template does not need to match the one you downloaded. So long as the headings are the same, you can use your own template, or reorder the fields in a way that you feel is more understandable.

You may be also be asking yourself what the External ID's are. You may find fields for the Company External ID, the Location External ID, and the Listing External ID. The structure is as follows:

  • Every company has it's own, unique external ID
  • Every location within a company has it's own unique external ID
  • Every listing within a location has it's own unique external ID

So one way to visualize this may be:

Company 1

  • Location 1
  • Listing 1
  • Listing 2
  • Location 2
  • Listing 1
  • Listing 2

Company 2

  • Location 1
  • Listing 1
  • Listing 2
  • Location 2
  • Listing 1
  • Listing 2

The above example would have 8 rows in the spreadsheet, 1 row for each listing.

In addition to standard text based data you may also include the url of an image you would like to add as well. To do this, copy and paste the url into the 'Photo URL field' as shown below. If you would like to add more than one photo to a listing, simply add an additional line with the same external ID, but with a new photo URL.
SCHEDULING THE UPLOAD

Once your data is formatted appropriately in the CSV, you simply have to upload the file as an attachment and the system will take care of the rest.

Once you have found the file and selected it to be uploaded, simply click the blue 'Import' button. Your upload will begin immediately, and you will be notified that an email is scheduled to be sent as soon as the upload process finishes.

You should receive an email notifying you when the import has completed. If there were errors, you will also be notified in the email of what those errors were.

COMMON ISSUES AND ERRORS

You may find that your upload either failed or was a 'partial success'. Both errors indicate that something is wrong with the formatting of your Excel Sheet. Specifically, some common issues are:

  • Incorrect or missing data
  • Extra columns that aren't supported by the system
  • Uploading a file in anything other than CSV format
