Integrating Twitter

To create and integrate your Twitter application, start by going to apps.twitter.com and make sure you are logged in to the account on which you plan to add your app. From here, follow the instructions detailed below:

Step 1

If you don't currently have one, we need to create an App. Click Create New App

Step 2

You will be taken to a form to fill out some basic information about the application you are creating. Start by naming your app (this can be anything you want) and entering a brief description of the app as well (again, this can be anything you want but note that it will be user facing and must be between 10 and 200 character long.

You will also need to enter the full URL for your marketplace, along with a callback URL. The callback URL is important, as it specifies where your users should be returned to after signing up with Twitter. For both the 'Website' and the 'Callback' field, you have not yet set up a custom domain, you will need to use your Near Me subdomain (in our example https://ineedanew.near-me.com).

Fully review the developer agreement - if you are satisfied check the Yes, I agree checkbox and then click Create your Twitter application

Step 3

Now that your application is created, we need to copy and paste the keys into your marketplace. Click on on the Keys and Access Tokens tab

Step 4

Copy and paste the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret into the Twitter Authentication fields located in Admin Dash > Integrations

You are now finished! Your users will be able to sign up/log in through their Twitter network to your marketplace!

Final Note

When you launch your marketplace you will need to update the URL to reflect your custom domain, don't forget or it will break your integration!
